BCC Family News & Praise Report

Dear friends,

Praise the Lord! This past weekend was a wonderful time of celebrating at Beausejour Community Church.

OVERCOMERS OUTREACH FALL ROUND-UP:

I was so blessed to be a part of our Overcomers Outreach Fall Round-up on Saturday night. The music was done by some of our local singers and musicians in town, and they treated us to some oldies but goodies, like "It is well with my soul", "I saw the light", and "Where could I go but to the Lord?" Three women shared their testimonies of how they found freedom in Christ - two of whom attend our church. The evening wrapped up with Chuck Sheradin, a local pastor, sharing his personal testimony of how Jesus set him free, and encouraged those in attendance that if they trusted Jesus, they too could become new creations in Christ. If you are struggling with addictions or compulsions of any sort, I encourage you to check out our Overcomers Outreach drop-in that happens every Monday night at the church. You too can be freed!

SUNDAY MORNING CELEBRATION:

In our Sunday morning service, I started off by sharing our big news announcement, by presenting Alvin Rueckert (one of our elders and council members) to the congregation as a pastoral candidate. After months of praying and seeking the Lord for his wisdom and direction, and with the church continuing to grow (we had 150 people at church on Sunday), we really felt like this was the right time to expand our pastoral team in the church from one person (me) to two. And as we dialogued with our elders and council, and different leaders in the church, we received a resounding YES! and affirmation of the pastoral calling and giftings in Alvin's life. At our Foursquare Pastor's Convention in Quebec a week ago, the national licensing and ordination committee met to discuss Alvin's application, and they too have given the thumbs up to move forward in this process. And so, over the next couple of weeks and months, Alvin and I will be meeting together regularly to dialogue around our foundational Foursquare doctrines. This is in preparation for the Sunday morning where we will present him to the congregation to ordain him to the work of the ministry, anointing him and laying hands on him to release him into this new calling. In addition to helping me with pastoral duties such as visitation, counselling, and preaching and teaching, Alvin is also going to assume direct oversight of our home groups and men's ministries, providing excellent leadership to these vital ministries. Also, at this time, Alvin's position as an assisting minister will be a volunteer one. As the church continues to grow, our church council may revisit at a future time the possibility of bringing him on staff as a paid position, but for now, he will serve in this ministry as a volunteer. I want to encourage you - as a part of our church family - to be praying for Alvin during this time as he is seeking God's will to be done in his life. We know that Jesus gives pastors as gifts to His body, and we thank God for the blessing that Alvin has already been to our church family. So let's pray for him, and for us to have God's wisdom as we continue to grow, amen?

MISSIONS REPORT:

This past Sunday morning was the first Sunday where we had our 'noisy change offering', encouraging people to bring any loose change that they have had lying around the house, and give it to help support Foursquare missions around the world. We are so pleased to report that this Sunday was one of our biggest missions offerings ever, with $363 (our average monthly missions giving for this year to date has been only $228).  I pray that we would continue to see generous giving to missions.

SUN. OCT. 25th: PAUL'S FIRST MISSIONARY JOURNEY - AND OUR MISSION TODAY:

Finally, we want to invite you to come and join us this Sunday as we near the end of our Supernatural series in the Book of Acts. This week, we are going to take a look at the Apostle Paul's first missionary journey (Acts 13-14), and then discover the exciting mission that Jesus has for our lives today. And don't forget to be praying for our ladies as they're away this weekend at their retreat at Cedarwood. At last count, they were close to 40 women in attendance!

Praying God's richest blessings on you and your family today...
